Tess: Susan Triggiani

Susan is thrilled to be appearing in her eighth production at Old Academy. She thought that as Serafina in last season's The Rose Tattoo she was the ultimate and concluding "Oh, so Italian widow" but finds herself once again in Italian widowhood but in an "Oh, so different way." She says, "I'm sorry Mama; I'm sorry Papa (expletive deleted)", but a million thanks to her dear director, JP, this wonderful cast, her husband, Joe, sons, Brian, Paul, Jeff and Mike and her new daughter-in-law, Kristen. Look her up on Facebook and be friends.

Fannie: Loretta Lucy Miller

Loretta Lucy is delighted to be working with Old Academy for the first time. Loretta Lucy has been acting for a looooooong time. Some of her favorite roles are Tess in Bermuda Avenue Triangle, Louisa in The Fantastiks, Kate in the Taming of the Shrew, Amanda in the Glass Menagerie (TWICE), Lila in The Moving a Lila Barton, Leona Samish in The Time of the Cuckoo, Susan in, Woman in Mind, Penny in You Can't Take It with You, and Sarah in, Going to See the Elephant. Favorite shows directed, Later Life, The Foreigner, The Last Good Deed, Crossing Delancy Street, Bell, Book and Candle, The Best of Friends, and Going to see the Elephant. Loretta Lucy will be playing Violet Venable in Suddenly Last Summer at the Stagecrafters' Readers Theatre in July. She is excited about working with JP and this fabulous cast. Susan Lonker, I wish you a speedy recovery and the opportunity to play the fabulous role of Fannie again. When not acting and directing, I am busy with my grandchildren (a 5 year old boy and triplet 3 year olds girls - whew!), being President of our Coop Apt., singing, exercising and having fun. It is great to be a retired "alta cocker"! Many thanks to my beautiful husband, Larry, for all his love and support. I love you, darling!

Johnny: Jim Fryer

Usually playing the Goon, Thug, Monster or over-bearing authority figure, this is Jim's first role as any sort of love interest...and his first appearance at OA. Thanks to J.P. for taking that leap of faith. Jim most recently portrayed Lord Capulet in Romeo & Juliet at Hedgerow where he has performed in two of their past summer British farces: Runs in the Family and There Goes the Bride. He has appeared at Swarthmore Players Club as Lazar in Fiddler and the judge in A Few Good Men. Other favorite roles include Poseidon in The Trojan Women, Elvis in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Big Jule in Guys n' Dolls and Sitting Bull in Annie Get Your Gun. When not on stage he loves directing, producing, set design, 'running tech' and anything that keeps him in proximity of a theater and the wonderfully creative people that inhabit them.

Angela / Producer: Terri Bateman

Terri was just seen as Penny Sycamore in You Can't Take It With You, and has been involved in theater since high school. North Light Players roles include: Maude Dunlop in The Music Man, Penny Sycamore in You Can't Take It With You, Abby Brewster in Arsenic And Old Lace, Ethel Rodgers in Ten Little Indians, Delilah in Father of the Bride, and Edith Northrup in Lemonade. Old Academy roles include: Sister Non-Public (remember the puppet?) in Nunsense, which she also stage managed & choreographed, Sandra in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Karen in Hogwash! Victoria/Evelyn in Exit Date, Mrs. Trotsky in All in the Timing, which she also produced. Fannie Green in the world premiere production of Seniors of the Sahara, Carmella Delgado in Minor Demons, Miss Fern in Bad Seed, the Peasant Woman in Incorruptible and Flora in The Rose Tattoo, which she also produced. Produced & choreographed the last eight Holiday Revue Shows. She has also been in several Fringe Festival original shows since 2006. Terri serves as the Membership Chair for Old Academy. She would like to send love to her children, Paul and Theresa, and to this wonderful cast.

Rita / Producer: Charlotte Higgins.

Since relocating to East Falls several years ago, Charlotte has appeared in several Old Academy productions. She most recently appeared as Gay Wellington in OAP's last production, You Can't Take it With You. Other recent stage appearances include Minor Demons, The Bad Seed and The Rose Tattoo. Charlotte has worked in repertory theatre, off-off broadway and summer stock. She has also appeared in several independent films and regional television commercials. Charlotte studied acting and directing in college before attending HB Studio in New York. She is very happy to be a part of this riotous production.

Rabbi Levine: Ben Kendall

This is Ben's first appearance on the OA stage. He has performed at many local venues including Hedgerow, the Merriam, the Adrienne as well as area community theaters. He recently understudied the role of Mr. Lockhart in the Arden's production of The Seafarer. He has played Marley's ghost in A Christmas Carol, Nunzio in Over The River and Through Woods, Bob Ewell in To Kill a Mockingbird, The Wizard in The Wizard of Oz, Mordechai Weiss in A Shayna Maidel, Les Kennkat in Boy Gets Girl, Giles Corey in The Crucible, Dr. Kelekian in Wit as well as many other character parts. If you rent the recent Hollywood flick, Dirty Deeds, you will see his film debut. All this would not be possible with out Ginny's encouragement and love.

Director: J. P. Parrella.

A Distinguished Member, JP directed last season's well received drama Tennessee Williams' The Rose Tattoo, and has previously helmed A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Over the River and Through the Woods, and another Tennessee Williams' masterpiece The Glass Menagerie. He made his OA debut several seasons ago with an unforgettable comic performance as Lumpkin the handy man in Smash and made us laugh again & again in Black Comedy, Barefoot in the Park, Charley's Aunt, The Boys Next Door, One Flew Over A Cuckoo's Nest, Fools, Eugene in Seniors Of The Sahara, and has played a serious Judge Taylor in To Kill a Mockingbird. JP was just seen as Kolenkhov in You Can't Take It With You. Among his many credits elsewhere are Tevye in Fiddler On The Roof. For the last eight seasons JP has written, directed and appeared in our ever popular holiday revues and is very delighted to do it again this year with the help of Music Director, Don Kawash. JP is thrilled to be directing this talented and wonderful cast.
